Hey friends, who doesn’t love a good road trip? Me and boyfriend, Kevin love a good weekend get away. I mean who doesn’t; time to relax, enjoy friends, family and indulge in another cities’ culture. One of the places we visit frequently is Philadelphia. Being that the drive for us is only 5-6 hours away it takes no convincing for us to hop in the car for the weekend; plus we get to spend time in the city where Kevin is from (Bonus!)
Friday...
The day of our trip started like any normal day, with work (well for one of us). We were both productive for once and had our bags packed the day before and got on the road about 1:30pm. Sitting in a car for hours is not my preferred method of travel but with a red bull and Kevin’s amazing playlist at disposal the trip was a breeze. I learned that the tolls apparently accepts credit cards now! (Hope that helps some cause I hate using cash) Since we got to Philly around 7:30pm our night was low key but heavy on the food.

Saturday...
Day 2 – If you know anything about me yet it’s that I can never 100% relax, of course I did some work on this trip lol. I had to do a business quiz in the morning, which I passed btw 😉. Next we were onto the real reason we came to Philly, Payton (Kevin’s niece) birthday party. We spent the whole day at an indoor water park! Never done anything like that before and I can’t wait to go back. I recommend Sahara Sam’s for children and adults. From the slides, lazy river and bar there is something for everyone.

Afterwards we had dinner with Kevin’s sister, Danielle at a buffet before they went back to Virginia. Me and Danielle are like two Scorpio peas in a pod clearly separated at birth. While everyone ate and said their goodbyes we were already planning on the next time we would see each other (stay tuned 😉). For our nightly festivities we watched the Fury vs. Wilder fight and the Sixers game at the Rivers casino with Kevin’s dad.
Sunday...
After spending half the day in bed we had a late lunch/early dinner at Carrabbas! Why Pittsburgh doesn’t have one, I have no idea but I am going to petition. Everything about this place was amazing. The service, food and wine had me taking home plates.

Monday...
Well after some debating Kevin decided we were staying an extra day 🤷🏽♀️ but the work don’t stop. While Kevin relaxed I still worked (praise God that I work from home). We stayed an extra day so I can go to my first home Sixers game! I’ve been to a game before but the energy of the crowd was so amazing and they won. I got to witness Joel Embiid get his career high of 49 points. (I was definitely good luck that night)

We got straight on the road after the game. I have no idea how we got through the trip but I wouldn’t want to do with anyone else.
I highly recommend adding Philly to your list of places to visit. There are so many things to do, whether you are into history, sports or food. Every time we visit we do something different each time, it’s never ending first. ❤️
Very informative. I must visit Philly soon.
